About

I am a high school math teacher in Chicago, IL. I completed a residency program to transition from my previous profession as a data scientist and technology consultant to secondary mathematics education. I will soon complete my teaching degree. I previously studied mathematics at Indiana University and Cambridge University

I am interested in thoughtful integration of technology into the classroom for discussion and demonstration as well as for individualized deliberate practice.

My journey into the classroom was deeply influenced by my experience as an instructor with Math Circles of Chicago and the writings of Francis Su. My biggest goal is facilitating authentic and joyful mathematical discourse and sense-making in an urban education environment.

I organize the Chicago site for Math Jam. In that capacity, I’m committed to fostering mathematical community for adults in a non-educational, informal setting.
